Launching on April 20, The Residents’ Weekday Club invites Abu Dhabi residents to swap desks for sea views from Monday to Thursday at Saadiyat Beach Club. It is a simple idea done well. You show up, settle into a private cabana, open your laptop and let the day unfold with the sound of the tide in the background.

Each setup comes with Wi-Fi and charging points, so work does not stop. But it softens around the edges. There are light refreshments waiting, think fresh fruit, crisp crudités and cold water, the kind of grazing that keeps you going without pulling you away from your screen.

Arrive in the morning and breakfast lands at your table. You can keep it clean with an egg white omelette, greens and salmon, or treat yourself and go for something heartier. Come later and lunch takes over, with a menu that moves from club sandwiches to chicken shawarma, sushi rolls and hot mezzeh like kibbeh and falafel.

Prices start from Dhs699 for one person, which includes a private cabana and one meal. For Dhs999, two people can share a larger poolside setup. Breakfast runs from 10am to 1pm, with lunch served from 1pm onwards.

Work, but make it feel like a beach day. On Saadiyat, that is not a hard sell.
