The first phase of the network will connect the emirates through stations chosen due to population and proximity, including transport links.
Stations are planned in:
- Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi
- Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai
- University City, Sharjah
- Al Hilal, Fujairah
- Al Sila’
- Al Dhannah
- Al Mirfa
- Madinat Zayed
- Mezaira’a
- Al Faya
- Al Dhaid
Each train will be able to carry up-to 400 passengers and it will include power outlets, WI-FI and modern seating. It was also revealed that there would be three classes of seating. The rail network is another attempt by the UAE to ease traffic congestion.

The rail has also joined forces with DTC to provide mobility services from stations. DTC will coordinate the location of taxis, buses, limousines, and VIP vehicles for passengers and will have plans in place to manage congestion and secure smooth customer exit. For peace of mind, DTC’s partnership with Bolt, means that passengers will be able to seamlessly book taxis and limousines directly via the Bolt app.
Need to hop on the Dubai Metro after the Etihad Rail? Feeder buses will connect you to nearby metro lines for a seamless journey too.
