Renderings shared during the Blue Line announcement offer an early glimpse at what Dubai’s newest Metro stations may eventually look like
Plans for the Dubai Metro Blue Line have been in discussion for nearly two decades, first emerging in 2006 alongside early proposals to expand the city’s growing metro network, including extensions to the Red and Green lines. The project is now firmly back on track as one of Dubai’s most ambitious transport expansions, set to serve fast-growing residential and academic districts across the city.

While it will join the Red and Green lines as part of Dubai’s wider Metro network, the Blue Line stations are expected to have their own distinct identity. Early renderings suggest a refreshed design approach that sets them apart while still retaining familiar elements of the Metro’s signature style – including its elegant golden tones.
DUBAI METRO BLUE LINE: STANDOUT FEATURES
According to Khaleej Times, the Blue Line stations will feature contemporary interiors inspired by the four elements of nature – air, water, earth and fire.
Three stations will follow an air theme, with open, light-filled spaces designed to evoke ambition and elevation, while two water-themed stations will reflect Dubai’s maritime heritage through flowing forms, calm tones and lighting that suggests movement and balance.
Four stations will take cues from earth, using natural colours and grounded interiors to express stability and a strong sense of place, while two fire-themed stations will feature vibrant colour gradients and dynamic lighting to convey energy, speed and motion.
The tallest metro station in the world

The first station on the Blue Line, Emaar Properties Metro Station, had its foundation stone laid in June 2025. It will carry naming rights for ten years from launch. The Emaar Properties Metro Station will be the highest metro station in the world, standing at 74 meters.

International City 1 to be the network’s biggest underground station
International City 1 is set to become the Blue Line’s key interchange hub — and the largest underground station in the Dubai Metro network — where the two branches of the line meet.
Designed as a major transfer point, it will play a central role in moving passengers between key residential and academic districts across Dubai.
