Global Village is staying open a little longer
Dubai’s favourite outdoor destination is extending its season, giving residents extra time to squeeze in one more visit before the summer break. Since reopening in April, Global Village has continued its mix of shopping, street food, live entertainment and family attractions across the park. Visitors can also make the most of ride offers at Carnaval, alongside discounted family ticket bundles for groups heading in together.
Eid Al Adha 2026 moon sighting in Dubai to confirm official start
Eid Al Adha 2026 dates in the UAE are expected to be confirmed following the moon sighting in Dubai on May 17. The event will mark the start of observations for the Dhu Al Hijjah crescent, which determines the beginning of the final month in the Islamic calendar and, in turn, the timing of Eid Al Adha and the Eid break across the country.

Al Mamzar Beach reopens after major redevelopment
Al Mamzar Beach has officially reopened following a full redevelopment, with upgraded facilities, expanded space and new leisure areas along the waterfront. The refreshed destination is designed for easier beach days, with more room for visitors and improved access across different zones. New additions include a 24/7 women-only beach area with night swimming, a floating walkway at Al Mamzar Lagoon, and a new waterfront dining space. The wider development also introduces investment opportunities, adding a new layer to one of Dubai’s most well-known beach destinations.
UAE announces Eid Al Adha 2026 public sector holidays
The UAE has announced the Eid Al Adha 2026 public sector holiday, with federal employees set to receive a five-day break. The holiday is expected to run from Tuesday, May 26 for Arafat Day through Friday, May 29 for Eid Al Adha, with Monday also included for the public sector. With the weekend included, many workers could see an extended break, with a return to work on Monday, June 1. The dates remain subject to official moon sighting confirmation, though astronomers currently expect Eid Al Adha to begin on Wednesday, May 27.
Bus-On-Demand expands to more Dubai neighbourhoods
Dubai’s Bus-On-Demand service has expanded again, adding four new neighbourhoods as part of its growing rollout across the city. The latest expansion brings the service to Al Qusais, Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Warqa’a and Dubai Investments Park, giving residents more flexible and accessible public transport options. With this update, the network now covers 17 areas across Dubai, supported by a fleet of 49 buses.
