Dubai’s Crown Prince is well-versed in the city’s restaurant scene

From HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, dining at Nobu, Sushisamba and Zuma, to HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, enjoying lunch at Ciprani Dolci and La Maison Ani, the Dubai Royals have been spotted dining out at several of the city’s top restaurants in recent weeks.

And on Friday May 1, Sheikh Hamdan – fondly known as Fazza – showed he’s firmly in tune with the coolest culinary spots around the city by dropping by one of Dubai’s most exciting new restaurants, Window. A recent addition to the brilliant independent dining scene at Alserkal Avenue, Window shared a snap of Sheikh Hamdan alongside their team to Instagram, with a heartfelt caption expressing their gratitude for the Crown Prince’s visit.

A Window into one of the city’s best new restaurants

Window, which opened earlier this year, is the latest concept from Fyte Hospitality (the team behind Kokoro) and serves as a cosy 32-seater, walk-in only neighbourhood restaurant, built around a long diner-style counter facing an open kitchen of roaring pizza oven, Josper grill and glowing coals.

Built around fire, the menu is masterminded by Argentine chef Gonzalo Platero, who previously headed the excellent Fyre pop-up at Ketura Reserve and has been a regular at Cucina Del Sul’s desert cookouts, where his barbecue set-ups suggest a man born for this place.
