Qatar Airways has resumes flights to UAE today from Doha

After weeks of disruption across the Middle East, flights between Qatar and the UAE are officially making a comeback. Following the temporary closure of Qatari airspace earlier this year, which led to widespread cancellations and travel chaos across the region. Qatar Airways has begun gradually restoring its network, including routes to the UAE. The airline will resume the daily flights to Dubai and Sharjah.

The move comes as part of a wider effort to stabilise air travel, with services steadily increasing in frequency and destinations.

So what does this mean for travellers?

Passengers can now expect flights between Doha and key UAE hubs like Dubai and Abu Dhabi to return as part of the airline’s phased recovery. Early schedules show services resuming on a limited basis before ramping up further in the coming weeks. The restart follows a turbulent period for regional aviation. Back in late February, escalating regional tensions forced multiple countries to close their airspace, grounding flights.

Now, with restrictions easing, airlines across the Gulf — including Qatar Airways — are rebuilding their schedules. The carrier has already confirmed plans to expand operations to more than 120 destinations by mid-May, signalling a strong return to normal travel patterns.

For UAE residents, the resumed Qatar routes offer more flexibility for both short-haul getaways and long-haul connections via Doha, one of the region’s busiest aviation hubs.

Travellers are still advised to check flight status before heading to the airport, as schedules continue to evolve while the situation stabilises.

But one thing’s clear: regional travel is back on track — and it’s only going up from here.
