Dubai has just added another major green space to the map, and this one’s being compared to Central Park in New York
There’s a new space in Dubai that’s going to be your favourite green area. Set in Jebel Ali, the brand-new Central Park at Wasl Gate is seriously big, we’re talking 82,700 square metres big. Created by Wasl Group, it’s one of the largest parks ever built inside a residential community in Dubai — and the best part? It’s open to everyone, not just residents.
So what’s there? A lot, actually. You’ve got jogging and cycling tracks, sports courts, a skate park, picnic areas and even an amphitheatre-style lawn. There are also food truck spots in the works, so you can make a proper afternoon (or evening) of it.
The idea is to give Dubai a proper shared outdoor space — somewhere you can hang out, get active or just escape the usual city rush for a bit. Think less “quick park visit” and more “spend a few hours here”. It’s all part of Dubai’s bigger push to make the city more liveable, with projects like this tying into Dubai Social Agenda 33, which focuses on improving quality of life and building stronger communities.

With 2026 also being the Year of the Family, this feels very on-brand — a space designed for people to actually spend time together outdoors.
