The school bus operations will be postponed for public and private nurseries, kindergartens and schools across the UAE
The Ministry of Education announces the postponement of school bus operations for all public and private nurseries, kindergartens, and schools across the UAE at the moment, as part of the operational arrangements accompanying the resumption of in-person learning that was announced recently. This means that there will be no school buses providing trips to children in the UAE at the moment. It has said that this will allow completion of operational readiness in coordination with relevant entities, including transport authorities and municipalities, to ensure service readiness in accordance with the highest safety standards.
The ministry announced the news on their instagram: “This step comes as part of ongoing coordination to ensure the smooth operation of school transport services in line with safety requirements and operational arrangements across all emirates.”
The measure will be subject to weekly review in coordination with the relevant authorities, and any updates regarding the resumption of school bus services will be announced through the official approved channels.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Education officially announced UAE schools will resume with in-school learning. Children will go back to school from Monday, April 20, 2026. Additionally, the UAE media office also announced the launch of comprehensive programmes to prepare facilities and staff training across nurseries, schools and higher education institutions. Key measures will be in place to ensure the safety of students, their families and all educational and administrative staff.
The Education, Human Resources, and Community Development Council also announced the gradual reopening of nurseries this week, starting with those located in government premises and commercial buildings. Other nurseries can provide home-based childcare services in accordance with the approved regulations and procedures.
