Etihad suspends scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi until March 4, with limited approved operations continuing

Etihad Airways has resumed some limited flight movements from Abu Dhabi, but scheduled commercial services remain suspended until 2pm UAE time on Wednesday March 4. In its latest update, the airline confirmed that all regular commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi are still cancelled due to regional airspace disruption. However, it said some repositioning, cargo and repatriation flights may operate in coordination with UAE authorities and are subject to strict operational and safety approvals. These flights are not regular passenger services. Etihad stressed that they are being carried out only under specific approvals.

Passengers booked on scheduled commercial flights are advised not to travel to Zayed International Airport unless they have been contacted directly by the airline and told to do so. Cancellations remain in place until the stated time on March 4. Travellers should check their flight status at etihad.com before heading to the airport and ensure their contact details are up to date in their booking.

Refund details

Guests holding Etihad tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, for original travel dates up to March 7, 2026, can rebook free of charge onto Etihad operated flights up to March 18, 2026.

Passengers scheduled to travel on any Etihad flight until March 7 may also request a refund through the airline’s online form or via their travel agent. Those who booked through an agent are advised to contact them directly.

Etihad says it is experiencing a high volume of calls and that response times may be longer than usual. Passengers seeking refunds are encouraged to use the online form.

The airline says safety remains its priority and that commercial services will resume once all safety criteria are met.
