Verso Abu Dhabi: Hidden inside the Grand Hyatt, this cheerful Italian spot delivers creative dishes, comforting flavours, and consistently good cooking

Walking into Verso Abu Dhabi, inside the Grand Hyatt on Corniche Road, is like walking into a burst of sunshine. The bright yellow walls, playful décor, and cheerful vibe immediately lift your spirits. This is a place where Italian tradition meets a spark of creativity, and it shows in every dish. There is an air of secrecy here, but in the best way, the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately feel lucky. The bright, fun interior makes it impossible not to feel happy from the moment you step through the door.

The Vibe

The atmosphere is casual yet elevated. Italian music hums in the background and the energy is relaxed, welcoming, and warm. The space feels like it was designed to make you smile and focus on the food in front of you.

The Food & Drinks

Every dish I tried landed perfectly. The Capesante all Amatriciana features seared scallops with traditional Amatriciana sauce, potato foam, and crispy chips, playful and balanced. The Risotto Acquerello con Funghi e Tartufo is creamy, earthy, and indulgent, while the Polpo Scottato, roasted octopus with mashed potato and marinara sauce, is tender and satisfying. The Tortellacci Ripieni, stuffed with spinach, taleggio, mint, and potato, topped with crispy beef pancetta and pears, is clever without being gimmicky. Even the Broccolini with chilli and garlic sings. Finish with the Verso tiramisu and don’t leave without having a Pina Colada. Everything is delicious, thoughtful, and full of heart.

The Service

The staff are attentive without hovering. They know the menu well, can make recommendations confidently, and let the meal flow naturally. Friendly, professional, and easygoing, they match the bright energy of the restaurant.

What to Order

You cannot skip the Risotto Acquerello con Funghi e Tartufo and the Tortellacci Ripieni. Capesante all Amatriciana is also a winner, and make sure there is space for the tiramisu, the perfect ending.
