After a few days of unsettled weather across the UAE, it looks like there’s more rain on the way
Forecasts are currently pointing to rain returning on Tuesday March 31 and early hours of Wednesday April 1, following last week’s weather – we saw a mix of rain, thunder and strong winds across parts of the country. While conditions have eased for now, let’s see whats on the forecast this coming week.
What the forecast is showing
According to both the Apple Weather app and Weather Radar app, rain is expected to hit parts of the UAE at different times on Tuesday.
In Abu Dhabi, showers are currently predicted in the early morning from around 5am, with another spell expected between 2pm and 4pm.
Over in Dubai, the rain is likely to arrive later in the day, with forecasts showing showers from around 6pm through to 2am, with a few breaks in between.
As always, timings and intensity can shift, so it’s worth keeping an eye on live updates throughout the day.

A look back at last week’s weather
In the early hours of Friday March 27, parts of the UAE brought heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds. Residents across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and beyond reported loud thunder overnight, with flashes of lightning lighting up the sky.
One of the standout moments saw a lightning strike near the Burj Khalifa, captured on video and widely shared across social media.
Why the weather can change quickly
While current forecasts give a good indication of what to expect, weather conditions in the UAE can shift fast. Rain systems can develop or weaken within hours, meaning some areas may see heavier showers, while others stay mostly dry. Wind speeds can also pick up suddenly, adding to the changing conditions.
