The Education, Human Development, and Community Development Council has announced the continuation of distance learning in schools and higher education institutions at the start of the third academic term.

It also announced flexible remote work arrangements for caregivers among federal government employees.
It added that all updates will be announced through the official channels of the ministries, the authority, and educational institutions.

In the post, the UAEGOV shared, ‘three measures to enable the continuity of education process and to ensure safety and wellbeing of everyone.’
- Distance learning will continue for a period of two weeks at the start of the third academic term for students, as well as teachers and administrative staff. This includes all nurseries, kindergartens and public and private schools nation wide. This will be reviewed on a weekly basis in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
- For students at all higher education institutes, distance learning will also continue for two weeks after the spring break. Once again, the situation will be evaluated alongside the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It added, ‘Higher education institutions may determine the appropriate mechanism for the work of academic and administrative staff in a manner than ensures the quality of educational process.
- Flexible remote work arrangements will be made for caregivers among federal government employees, including parents (both fathers and mothers) whose job allow remote work during this period for children from kindergarten through Grade 8, and for children enrolled in nurseries. This measure is introduced as it is the Year of the Family, and as part of efforts to support the educational process in the country.
The UAEGOV also added that private educational institutions, including schools, nurseries and higher education institutes may submit requests to return to in-person learning needed. The requests will be assessed and the necessary action taken accordingly.
