UAE schools to extend distance learning for another two weeks

• Distance learning will continue for a period of two weeks at the start of the third academic term for students, as well as teachers and administrative staff. This includes all nurseries, kindergartens and public and private schools nation wide. This will be reviewed on a weekly basis in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
•  For students at all higher education institutes, distance learning will also continue for two weeks after the spring break. Once again, the situation will be evaluated alongside the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It added, ‘Higher education institutions may determine the appropriate mechanism for the work of academic and administrative staff in a manner than ensures the quality of educational process.
•  Flexible remote work arrangements will be made for caregivers among federal government employees, including parents (both fathers and mothers) whose job allow remote work during this period for children from kindergarten through Grade 8, and for children enrolled in nurseries. This measure is introduced  as it is the Year of the Family, and as part of efforts to support the educational process in the country.

The UAEGOV also added that private educational institutions, including schools, nurseries and higher education institutes may submit requests to return to in-person learning needed. The requests will be assessed and the necessary action taken accordingly.
