Dubai is gearing up to make history once again. On January 21, 2026, Dubai will attempt to break a Guinness World Record by hosting the world’s largest virtual sign language class, bringing thousands together for a truly inclusive global moment.

It’s organised by Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) and forms part of the Dubai Communicates in Sign Language initiative, launched in October 2025 by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination.

It strongly reflects Dubai’s commitment to accessibility, empowerment and meaningful community participation. And no one gets left behind. It’s all in line with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which places the empowerment of People of Determination at the core of its development priorities.

Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai stated the initiative ’embodies Dubai’s commitment to becoming a truly friendly city for People of Determination, within a comprehensive development framework that places human potential at its core.’

She added, “We are focused on empowering People of Determination to play an active and impactful role in our social and economic fabric, contributing meaningfully to the sustainable development journey.”

And the event is open to everyone
