The drained Lake D will make way for BAY360, a new hub of restaurants, shops and wellness amenities
If you’ve been wondering why Lake D at Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) has been drained – wonder no more: it’s for an exciting new development.
JLT’s parent company DMCC has just unveiled BAY360, which is a new mixed-use lifestyle development of shops, restaurants and recreational amenities.
Set to be completed by the end of 2027, BAY360 will be sensitively developed on a portion of the existing Lake D. But it’s not replacing it completely. BAY360 will blend seamlessly into its waterfront setting, with the majority of Lake D returning to its shimmering state as a centrepiece of the community.
What to expect at BAY360
At the heart of BAY360 will be A flagship 22,000-square-foot Spinneys supermarket offering residents a fresh and modern grocery experience.
For day-to-night dining, a new collection of cafes and restaurants will further add to the impressive culinary collection in the area. To make the most of the near-year-round weather, scenic lake-facing venues with outdoor terraces promise to be lovely spots for alfresco dining.
Elsewhere, the wellness set can look forward to a collection of rooftop padel courts, sure to bring the wow-factor to every game.
Plus, practical spaces like medical facilities and family-friendly outdoor areas are designed to support everyday living.
To support increased activity, BAY360 will also feature a dedicated underground car park with approximately 300 spaces.
Better access, improved living
Beyond the development itself, the area around BAY360 is also set to get a face lift. As well as more greenery, seating and walkways at the lake edge, a new pedestrian avenue will create a direct, walkable route from the metro station at the far side of the lake.
