Take note, travellers

After a night of unsettled weather across parts of the UAE, with rain, thunder and lightning, you’re most likely wondering if your flight is going ahead or going to depart on time.

If you’re travelling out of the country via Sharjah Airport from today, take note of this announcement made by the airport via their official social media channels on March 27, 2026.

It says, ‘Sharjah Airport advises all passengers to stay up-to-date on the latest flight information due to weather conditions that may affect some flight schedules. We advise passengers to contact their airlines directly to verify the status of their flights before heading to the airport. ‘

Weather update

Looking at weather radar, NCM updates and Apple weather app, there is still one more round of rainfall expected later today.

  • From around 4pm to 8pm, this is shaping up to be the main window for rain
  • Expect scattered showers, with a chance of thunder and lightning in some areas
  • Winds may become strong at times, particularly into the evening

This period is likely to mark the final phase of the current weather system before it starts to clear.

Do note these conditions are being driven by convective clouds, which can develop quickly and bring a mix.

Stay up to date via official channels.

Stay safe, UAE!
