From hearts to pixels
At Kite Beach, the city’s heartbeat is being displayed in pixels. On April 5, 2026, an installation popped up calling on Dubai residents to show their gratitude to the country they call home.
The We Love Dubai installation is a digital mosaic with photos of residents who span the globe, all coming together to form the living digital mosaic. And remember, over 190 nationalities live and call the city home, meaning the mosaic is as vibrant and diverse as it can get, with each square bringing a unique energy and spirit in the mix – the very same cultural tapestry that defines Dubai today.
How do you become part of the mosaic:
It’s easy. At the location, scan the QR code, enter in your name, nationality and email address, and you will be directed to an app where you will have to take your photo. Once done, you tap ‘submit’, and you will receive a message saying, ‘Look up – your heart is now beating with Dubai.’
The result is a real-time digital mosaic heart made up of the faces of the people who live and work in the city.
The photos on the LED animate, fading to dark before being replaced by another selfie, creating the illusion of a beating heart. And we’re sure you can’t miss it – but the LED screen is tinged in the colours of red, green, white and black, forming the UAE flag. Once again, uniting us all in a collective love letter to Dubai.
After you take your photo and see it proudly filling a space in the beating heart, make your way to the small stand where you can collect a ‘Dubai is home’ or ‘We love Dubai’ sticker.
It’s a powerful reminder to the world that beyond the skylines, it’s the people who are the beating heartbeat and soul of the city.
Oh, and yes, you can download and share your image after you take part.
The lovely idea itself was developed by the talented people of Dubai Creative Community. At the venue, you won’t see any logos, nor any company names trying to claim the spot light. Just a group of individuals who love the city as much as you do, and want to say ‘thank you’.

Where to find the installation
The We Love Dubai activation is located on Kite Beach, a few steps away from SALT Kite Beach.
It will be at the venue until April 12, 2026 – so don’t miss out.
The installation comes to life from 3pm to 10pm from Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm.
