A new cinema in Abu Dhabi offers films, food, live events and a lounge space designed for relaxed, social evenings
There is a new reason to head to Marina Mall, and it is not just for shopping. Cinemacity has opened Starlight, a cinema that feels more like a night out than a quick movie run. This is not your usual grab popcorn, find your seat, leave straight after situation. Cinemacity Starlight is built for lingering. You arrive early, you stay after, and somewhere in between you forget you came just to watch a film.
Inside, there are nine screens, including a standout Starlight Theatre that seats up to 500 people. It is big, yes, but it does not feel impersonal. The whole space leans into the idea of a cultural hangout. Film sits alongside music, conversation and the low hum of people settling in for the evening.

Then there is the members’ club. It is quieter, more polished, and clearly designed for those who want a little more from their cinema night. Think reserved seating, a lounge to retreat to, and service that feels closer to a hotel than a multiplex. It is the kind of place where you could just meet friends, even if you are not watching anything.
Food matters here. You can go classic, or you can do it properly. There is Italian at Graffiti Forno e Focacceria, elevated cinema snacks that go beyond the usual, and a licensed dining spot with proper plates, good wine and cocktails. Some screens even bring the food to you.
And it goes beyond the screen, with live shows, special screenings and events that give you a reason to come back again.
Cinemacity Starlight feels like something different. It is a cinema, yes, but also a place to spend an entire evening without feeling rushed out the door.
