Rainy Dubai in all its stunning glory, captured in photos

Even the heaviest of sleepers would have been jolted from their beds last night on March 26 thanks to the heavy rain in the UAE last night. The downpour may have ceased a little this morning, but take note, according to reports, there’s more rain on the way.

One thing’s for sure: you definitely whipped out your phone to snap up some photos of mother nature at work. And you weren’t the only one.

The Dubai Media Office was also busy snapping up and sharing photos of the rain throughout the day, sharing the very best of Dubai in the wet weather with their followers. It complements the new series called ‘Beautiful Dubai’ where the government authority shares some of the best sides of our beautiful city.

And they weren’t the only one. As usual, we saw a jaw-dropping photo shared by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE on his official Instagram.

If you missed the photos, take a look below:

Rain update

Looking at weather radar, NCM updates and Apple weather app, there is still one more round of rainfall expected later today.

  • From around 4pm to 8pm, this is shaping up to be the main window for rain
  • Expect scattered showers, with a chance of thunder and lightning in some areas
  • Winds may become strong at times, particularly into the evening

This period is likely to mark the final phase of the current weather system before it starts to clear.

Do note these conditions are being driven by convective clouds, which can develop quickly and bring a mix. Stay up to date via official channels. Stay safe, Dubai!
