Sharjah Light Festival returns, transforming the emirate into living canvas of light and stories
If you’ve ever scrolled through Instagram and seen photos of Sharjah’s popular landmarks lit up in vibrant colours – no, it’s not AI at work. Those dazzling scenes are real and come from the Sharjah Light Festival.
The annual winter festival returns for its 15th edition for a limited number of days from February 3 to 15, 2026. This year, it runs under the theme ‘Reflections of Belonging’

What to expect from the Sharjah Light Festival?
Well, during the festival, facades of iconic cultural and tourist sites and landmarks in Sharjah will be illuminated in a snap-worthy, mesmerising art display, usually created by renowned artists.
Essentially, it’s a celebration of creativity and heritage in the form of lights, colours and music.

At the moment, the official list of landmarks has not been announced, but we will keep you up to date when we find out.
In the past, the sites included General Souq – Al Hamriyah, University City Hall, Al Noor Mosque, Sharjah Mosque, Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah Fort, Kalba Clock Tower and more.

Light Village is the lively hub of the Sharjah Light Festival, offering food, shopping, interactive art, and family-friendly entertainment in one vibrant outdoor space. Here, visitors can enjoy tasty bites, browse unique stalls, explore immersive light installations, and soak up the festival’s playful, colourful atmosphere.
Light Village will open a few days before the Sharjah Light Festival, running from January 29 to February 22, 2026.
