Severe winter storm forces Etihad to cancel and delay multiple Abu Dhabi flights to New York and Boston
Travelling to the US? You may want to double check your flight. Etihad Airways and Emirates have cancelled and rescheduled several flights between the UAE and the United States as a major winter storm sweeps across America’s East Coast. Etihad Airways has cancelled and delayed several services to New York and Boston as a fast moving Nor’easter threatens to dump up to two feet of snow across parts of the region from Sunday.
Cancelled flights:
- EY001 Abu Dhabi to New York (JFK) – 23 February EY002 New York (JFK) – Abu Dhabi (AUH) – 23 February
- EY007 Abu Dhabi to Boston (BOS) – 23 February
- EY008 Boston (BOS) to Abu Dhabi – 23 February
- EY001 Abu Dhabi to New York (JFK) – 24 February
- EY002 New York (JFK) to Abu Dhabi – 24 February
Delayed or rescheduled flights:
• EY003 Abu Dhabi to New York (JFK) – 23 February
• EY004 New York (JFK) to Abu Dhabi – 23 February
The airline says affected passengers will be rebooked on alternative services once flights resume, or offered a full refund if they prefer. Travellers are urged to update their contact details online to receive SMS or email alerts.
Other carriers are also adjusting schedules. Emirates has cancelled and rescheduled several Dubai to New York and Newark flights. Connecting passengers through Dubai will be rebooked automatically.
Air India has cancelled all flights to and from New York and Newark on February 23, citing safety concerns. Passengers should make sure their contact details are updated on Etihad’s website so they can receive the latest flight updates by SMS or email.
