Emirates has cancelled a number of flights to and from Dubai International Airport as adverse weather conditions continue to impact parts of the UAE
The Dubai-based airline confirmed that a number of its services have been cancelled, delayed, or retimed on Friday, December 19, as unstable weather continues to affect the region. The disruption comes after stormy conditions began on Thursday, December 18, bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms across the city and surrounding areas, prompting operational changes and schedule adjustments across multiple routes.

Travel advice for passengers
The travel disruption follows heavy rainfall across Dubai overnight and on Thursday afternoon, with unsettled weather expected to continue throughout the day. Emirates has advised passengers to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure, as delays and operational changes may persist.
Dubai Police issued a public safety alert on Thursday, December 18, urging residents to stay at home until Friday midday. They also reminded the public to exercise caution, avoid beaches and marine activities, stay clear of valleys and flood-prone areas, drive carefully, and follow all official instructions.
Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest flight updates before travelling to the airport, with safety remaining the top priority.
