Dubai’s new bridge will cut a 12-minute drive down to just 3
Dubai keeps raising the bar on city living, and its newest infrastructure is another game-changer. Dubai’s new bridge links Shaikh Zayed Road straight to Dubai Harbour, cutting a 12-minute journey down to three. High above the busy streets, the shortcut makes getting around this part of the city faster and smoother – a small change with a big impact on your daily commute.
A 1,500-metre shortcut across the city
The bridge, stretching 1.5 kilometres with two lanes in each direction, is designed to handle around 6,000 vehicles per hour. It will span key intersections – from Interchange 5 near the American University in Dubai, across Al Naseem and Al Falak Streets, and over King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street – straight into Dubai Harbour.
Public and private collaboration
Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director General, highlights how the project reflects a seamless public-private partnership, aligning with Dubai’s urban development plans and its vision to become a global city for living, working, and investing. Shamal Holding CEO Abdulla Binhabtoor adds that the bridge strengthens Dubai Harbour’s position as a fully connected waterfront hub.
