The first full week of 2026 is here, here are the best things to do in Dubai

Yes, we can still say Happy New Year and we’re doing it in style. The first official full week of 2026 has arrived, and Dubai is buzzing with things to do. From fireworks you might’ve missed and viral chocolate pop-ups, to live orchestral performances and stunning drone shows, there’s plenty on offer. Whether you’re looking for a midweek adventure or some fun after work, these four picks are the perfect way to kick off the year.

If your FYP has been flooded with this chocolate, here’s your chance to try it. The viral sweet treat is taking over the Museum of the Future from Friday January 2, and word on the street is there’s a brand-new flavour making its debut. Expect more than just desserts too – think interactive games, fun selfies along the way.

Where: Museum of the Future, Sheikh Zayed Road
When: January 2 to 11, 9am to 9pm

If it’s still sitting on your Dubai to-do list, this is your sign – you’ve got just one week left to see the Dubai Shopping Festival drone show before it wraps up. Lighting up the skies above Bluewaters Dubai and The Beach JBR, the all-new Celebrations show is packed with bold colours, slick formations and high-energy music that makes it even more impressive in person. With faster drone movements, brighter lights and extra effects added this year, it’s well worth catching before it disappears for another season.

Where: Bluewaters Island and The Beach JBR
When: Daily until January 11, 8pm and 10pm
Cost: Free
