Blue Monday doesn’t exist in Dubai when you do these things
If you didn’t realise, today is Blue Monday and apparently it’s the saddest day of the year. It’s usually the third Monday of January, when festivities are over, your bank balance is feeling a little bit thin and maybe you have failed a resolution or two. Whether that all applies to you, and you’re feeling blue, or you are the happiest you’ve ever felt in your life, it’s always nice to do things to make you happy, right? We’ve gathered them here.
Head to a cafe where you can watch dogs play
Pawdy Neighbors is one of the coolest concepts for a cafe in Dubai. It’s a neighbourhood cafe designed for everyone including your furry friends, where you can see directly into doggy daycare from the cafe. Enjoy delicious food, and relax and watch some bundles of fluff have fun. Now if that doesn’t bring a smile to your face then we don’t know what will.

Treat yourself to a naughty pizza and get one for free
This Monday, Naughty Pizza at Dubai Festival City is serving up a free Margherita with any pizza ordered, because if the day’s going to be blue you may as well have pizza to get you through it. Order your favourite, get a Margherita on the side, and turn Monday into something worth showing up for.

Go for a mental health walk
Feeling blue? Go for a walk to get those endorphins flowing. There are lovely places for walks around the city whether you want city lights or beach views. We’ve got a list of them here for you to check out.
Immerse yourself in greenery
Ignore blue and go for green. Nature always helps when you’re feeling a little bit down and in The Green Planet you’ll be 100% immersed in nature. It’s a full rainforest with lots of animal encounters such as lemurs, porcupines, sloths and more.

Get hyped up
House of Hype in Dubai Mall is a world full of colour, craziness, and fun so there’s no way you could be blue here, especially with all of the fun characters walking around and the 25 different zones to explore. There are lots of fun games for you to play too.

Visit a cat cafe
Cuddling some kitties for an hour or two? Instant smiles. Vibrassae Cat Cafe has several branches all over the city so there should be one close enough for you to visit. They’re in Al Safa, Mirdif and Dubai Creek Harbour offering purrs and purrfect coffee.

Get a free dessert
Blue Monday calls for something comforting and sweet, and The Banc is answering with a complimentary chocolate lava cake with every main course ordered. Head there between 1pm and 6pm and enjoy the sweet and tasty dessert for nothing.

Get lost in a book and forget about Blue Monday, Bookends, a pre-loved bookstore and online marketplace in Dubai, is flipping the script on the so-called gloomiest day of the year by giving readers a reason to smile.
