Abu Dhabi Airport has announced a new initiative to allow visitors access to the airport without flying

Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport has launched a brand-new Shopping Pass, giving UAE residents the chance to access the terminal, shop, dine and explore — no boarding pass required.

What is the Shopping Pass at Abu Dhabi Airport?

The initiative is a limited-time campaign that allows visitors to enter the airport purely for the experience. Think luxury retail, global dining spots and one of the region’s most impressive architectural spaces — all without the stress of travel.

Running for eight weeks, the pass opens up areas of the terminal that are usually reserved for passengers only.

What can you actually do inside?

Once inside, you can:

Browse duty-free and premium retail stores
Try a range of restaurants and cafés
Experience the airport’s world-class facilities and design

How it works

Getting access is simple, but it’s not a walk-in situation:

You must register in advance online
You’ll receive a digital visitor pass (QR code) via email
Entry is only valid for your pre-booked time slot
The QR code is scanned at entry, shops and exit points

Who can apply?

Open to UAE nationals and residents only
Visitors must carry valid ID
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult

Important things to know

Before you go, there are a few rules:

No boarding pass needed — but security procedures still apply
Laptops and tablets aren’t allowed during the visit
Alcohol and tobacco purchases are not permitted
You must return your security pass when leaving

Parking perks

There’s a bonus if you’re planning to shop:

Spend Dhs200 or more and get up to 4 hours of free parking
Below that, standard parking fees apply
