A spell of wild weather is heading our way
You don’t really need to step out of your home to know that the weather in the UAE has been a little moody as of late. From dust blowing in your face and getting into your eyes, wind speeds slamming your car doors shut for you, and those annoying dusty rain specks all over your windows. Sadly, this weather is set to continue across the UAE today, so read on so you’re prepared.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has announced that Wednesday, April 8, across the UAE, it will be clear to partly cloudy during the day, with a drop in temperatures. During the day on Tuesday and Thursday, April 9, it will be occasionally dusty thanks to the active and strong north-westerly winds.

From Thursday morning (April 9), clouds are expected to move in from the West over the country at intermittent periods. Light to moderate rainfall may accompany this over scattered areas. It may be heavy at times in some regions, especially the Western and Eastern areas. According to the NCM, these weather fluctuations are expected to continue until Monday, April 13, 2026.
Be careful if you’re heading out to the beach, as the sea is expected to be rough at times.
The NCM also reported that the lowest temperature today was recorded in Mabreh Mountains, Ras Al Khaimah, dropping to 8.6°C.
We are following all announcements from NCM and we will keep you up-to-date with the latest.

A look back at last month’s weather
In the early hours of Friday, March 27, parts of the UAE brought heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds. Residents across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and beyond reported loud thunder overnight, with flashes of lightning lighting up the sky.
One of the standout moments saw a lightning strike near the Burj Khalifa, captured on video and widely shared across social media.
The NCM shared that the UAE ‘received exceptional rainfall, with a single weather station recording 243.3mm, more than double the country’s typical annual rainfall, in a matter of days.’
