How much will you swipe for petrol in April in the UAE

Towards the end of every month, car owners in the UAE keep their eyes peeled for one thing: the petrol price announcement. And petrol prices for April in the UAE have just been announced.

Here are the new prices per litre:

  • Super 98: Dhs3.39 (an increase from Dhs2.59 in March)
  • Special 95: Dhs3.28 (an increase from Dhs2.48 in March)
  • Diesel: Dhs4.69* (a further price increase that what was announced mid-March)

Super 98 prices in 2026

  • January 2026: Dhs2.53
  • February 2026: Dhs2.45
  • March 2026: Dhs2.59
  • April 2026: Dhs3.39

Here’s how Super 98 petrol prices changed over the course of 2025 for the UAE

    • January 2025: Dhs2.61
    • February 2025: Dhs2.74
    • March 2025: Dhs2.73
    • April 2025: Dhs2.57
    • May 2025: Dhs2.58
    • June 2025: Dhs2.58
    • July 2025: Dhs2.70
    • August 2025: Dhs2.69
    • September 2025: Dhs2.70
    • October 2025: Dhs2.77
    • November 2025: Dhs2.63
    • December 2025: Dhs2.70

The petrol prices in the country for the following month are always announced on the last day of the month.

If prices are set to rise, people stop by the petrol stations to fill the tank up before the month ends. If they drop, they usually wait until the new prices come into effect in the new month before heading to the pump.

Diesal

*The cost of diesel is also announced alongside Super 98 and Special 95. However, in March 2026, the prices for diesel fluctuated in the middle of the month, changing from Dhs2.72 to Dhs4.14 per litre (a Dhs1.42 increase).

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting the fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Prior to that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
