Heavy rain, hail and strong winds expected

The UAE has issued a weather update, with rain, thunderstorms and even the chance of hail expected across parts of the country over the coming days

According to the UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), authorities are taking a proactive approach to the changing conditions. In a recent weather update, they confirmed preparations are in place “within the framework of proactive preparations for the potential impacts on the country.”

NCEMA also noted that there will be continuous monitoring of weather developments, along with the activation of business continuity plans where needed, ensuring everything runs smoothly during the unsettled weather.

What’s the forecast?

Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are set for a cloudy, rainy stretch.

In Dubai, from Saturday March 21 through to next Friday March 27, temperatures will range between 25°C and 29°C during the day, with lows between 19°C and 23°C. Rainfall is expected to pick up from the weekend, including possible thunderstorms. Conditions stay mostly cloudy throughout, with sunshine returning by next Saturday March 28.

In Abu Dhabi, temperatures will sit slightly higher, with highs between 25°C and 34°C and lows from 17°C to 23°C. Rain and thunderstorms are expected from Sunday onwards, with peak rainfall chances on Monday March 23 and Friday March 27. Like Dubai, it will remain mostly cloudy throughout the week, with clearer skies expected again next Saturday March 28.
