Night swims, women-only shores, mountain lagoons – Dubai beaches are getting a whole new vibe
The way we do beach days in Dubai is about to change. Dubai beaches are entering a new phase, with night swims, smarter safety systems, new public spaces and even a beach in the mountains all on the way. Some of it is already opening, and it’s set to change how – and when – we spend time by the water.
Night swims are here to stay
Dubai’s experiment with 24/7 beaches has been a hit. Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3 and Umm Suqeim 1 have already welcomed 1.5 million visitors in just 18 months. With smart lighting and AI-powered safety systems, more beaches are opening for night swimming — letting you dive in long after the sun sets.
Ladies only
Al Mamzar Corniche is getting a 125,000 sqm women-only beach. Privacy and safety are key, with gated access, fencing, night swimming, tailored amenities, sports areas and family-friendly zones. It’s the first time Dubai beaches will offer a dedicated, fully public space for women.

Move, walk, cycle
Dubai beaches are about to get a lot bigger for walkers, joggers and cyclists. By 2030, public beach access will increase by 150%, and walking, jogging and cycling tracks will grow by 285%. More space, more freedom and routes connecting different areas – perfect for active beach days.
Umm Suqeim makeover
Umm Suqeim Beach is undergoing a Dh500 million upgrade. Expanded shoreline, smart lighting, better access, new mobility hubs, EV and scooter facilities – plus a 38-metre observation tower offering sweeping coastal views.
Al Mamzar’s floating bridge
Part of a Dhs355 million programme, Al Mamzar Beach Corniche will soon feature a 200-metre floating bridge linking both sides of the coast. Add new play areas, cycling tracks, pedestrian paths and 24/7 night swimming, and you’ve got a beach built for locals, residents and tourists alike.
Hatta’s mountain beach
Hatta is getting an artificial beach with a crystal-clear lagoon. Swim, paddle, catch a film at the outdoor cinema or hang with the family – all framed by the mountains. This all-season spot is designed for year-round fun, far beyond Dubai’s traditional coastline.
