Heading out early this Sunday? Expect major road closures across Dubai
Runners will take to the streets this Sunday as Dubai’s popular Burj2Burj Half Marathon makes its return, bringing temporary road closures and traffic diversions to several key routes.
Taking place on Sunday, February 8, the sold out event will see thousands of runners cover the 21.1km distance, with roads affected from the early hours of the morning. If you’re planning to be out and about, here’s everything you need to know.
Where the race runs
The half marathon gets underway at 6.30am, starting close to the Museum of the Future on Al Mustaqbal Street. From there, runners will weave through some of Dubai’s most recognisable areas, passing the Burj Khalifa early in the race before continuing towards the coastline.
The finish line will be set at Umm Suqeim Park, right near the Burj Al Arab.
