Fireworks, but make it iconic
There’s nothing quite like watching the night sky light up with fireworks against one of Dubai’s most iconic backdrops.
Here’s why it’s happening
If you’ve glanced at your phone’s signal bar (top left of your screen) recently and noticed your network now reads UAE&Kuwait, you’re not imagining things. The change marks UAE-Kuwait Week, a nationwide celebration of the long standing friendship, shared values and cultural ties between the two countries.
Fireworks at Burj Al Arab
On Wednesday, February 4, fireworks will light up the night sky at 9pm with the Burj Al Arab as the backdrop.
There’s no ticketing, no registration and no official viewing event planned, which means the display is completely free to watch. The fireworks will be visible from anywhere with views of Burj Al Arab, including nearby restaurants, while a stroll along Kite Beach or the east side of the Palm’s crescent (on a clear day) makes for a relaxing night out.
Celebrations across the UAE
The fireworks in Dubai bring an end to a packed week of celebrations happening across the country. In Dubai, Marsa Boulevard had a drone show, Global Village has been hosting special drone shows and fireworks, while Abu Dhabi showed off fireworks and with Yas Bay Waterfront one of the island’s top attractions lit up in red, green, white, and black, the colours of the Kuwaiti flag,
From heritage experiences to family-friendly shows and shopping promotions, it’s been a week designed to celebrate culture, connection and community.
Worth heading out for?
This one’s an easy yes. It’s free, it’s iconic and it doesn’t require much more than turning up and looking up, unless you want to make a whole night of it and book at a restaurant.
Pro tip: Arrive early to secure a good viewing spot, and keep your phone charged, this is one skyline moment you’ll want to capture.
