ADQ Community Carnival returns to Khalifa Park this weekend

The ADQ Community Carnival brings inflatables, picnic vibes, kids workshops and open air cinema to Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Park

If your calendar needs a family friendly win, clear an afternoon and head to Khalifa Park. The ADQ Community Carnival is back for 2026 and it is shaping up to be one of those wholesome Abu Dhabi moments that ticks every box. Fun, food, learning and a little bit of magic for all ages. Running from January 30 to February 8, the carnival returns for its third year, perfectly timed with the UAE’s Year of Family. This is a big, joyful celebration of community and the everyday things that make life in Abu Dhabi work.

Picture this. Food trucks serving easy crowd pleasers. A picnic area where parents can finally sit down while kids burn off energy nearby. There is an inflatable obstacle course for the brave, Roller DXB for those who want to rollerblade, an open air cinema for relaxed evenings and plenty of space to wander without feeling rushed.

Kids are especially spoiled. They can make slime with their hands, build puzzles, get stuck into creative workshops and even learn about recycling in ways that actually feel fun. The activities lean into curiosity and play while sneaking in lessons about sustainability and looking after the world around us.

Over ten days, 17 ADQ portfolio companies take part, each bringing their world to life. From aviation and energy to food security, healthcare and transport, this is a rare chance to see how the systems behind daily life connect. Some of the companies at the carnival are Tadweer Group, the waste management and recycling company, Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), Etihad Rail, Agthia Group, PureHealth and Abu Dhabi Airports. Each has fun interactive exhibitions all showing how their work supports families and communities.
