Dubai-born LC was founded by resident Lyndsay Doran who found a gap in the market for high-quality athleisure wear that fits all shapes and sizes. From humble roots in the region, Chic Le Frique is now an internationally embraced name, although customers here in Dubai still benefit from same-day delivery.

From Al Quoz to the UAE comes Shoeq, a gorgeous independent shoe brand inspired by the Spanish Avarca, created over a century ago using leather and recycled tyres to keep farmers’ feet dry and protected. In the two-hour workshop, guests will be guided through the fermentation process before getting down to business, making their own kimchi and chilli paste to take home. If you’re an avid spice lover or just have a hankering for fermented foods, then you need to make your way down to this workshop, priced at Dhs400 per person.
Mirzam

From roasting cocoa beans to hand-wrapping bars, this homegrown bean-to-bar chocolate factory is a must-visit for chocolate aficionados. Inspired by the UAE’s history, the name comes from the Arabic for ‘herald’– it’s a star that used to signal the start of the summer winds and, as such, the ripening of the dates.
FIX Dessert Chocolatier

Chocolate aficionados, get excited…There’s a real-life chocolate factory now open in Dubai’s bustling arts district, Alserkal Avenue. Ganache Chocolatier’s flagship factory, café, and boutique features over 100 flavours to choose from and a unique gift wrapping station that allows you to customise your own boxes. Ivy and Silk is a luxury faux flower brand and was founded by Katy, a psychologist who found her passion as she stepped into flowers after a short wedding floristry course. As she moved to Dubai in 2016, she quickly realised that fresh flowers don’t last as well as she’d hoped in the heat and Ivy+Silk was born.
