Some weeks, plans don’t have to come with a price tag. In Abu Dhabi, some of the best things to do cost nothing at all. From quiet cultural stops to long beach walks and big open spaces, here are things to do this week that won’t cost you a dirham.

A long, easy waterfront walk with views, lights and plenty of places to stop. Even if you skip the restaurants, it is a good place to stretch your legs and watch the city move. Come in the evening when it starts to glow.

Abu Dhabi Corniche beach and promenade

United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, Beach and Skyline

Two kilometres of clean sand, calm water and space to breathe. The promenade is just as good, with wide paths for walking and cycling. It is easy, familiar, and always works for free things to do.

Tucked alongside the Zayed National Museum on Saadiyat Island, Al Masar Garden is a calm, open space designed for slow walks and quiet moments. It’s all clean lines, shaded paths and landscaped greenery, with glimpses of the museum’s striking architecture in the background. An easy add to your Eid plans if you’re already on Saadiyat.
